LATCHING IMPACT SENSOR
f
BE LOILIESU ELECTRIC INC,
MOT OG-s LAMCOWMLER
......BEI CODE• .e.»......_
IELEGTpft
 ao
F
iU U
Description:
• The Model 408 La hing Sensor is a o-part modular, ystem that was specifically
designed to mo 'tor impact at fu tove
dispensers and deactivate the appropriate electrical
power lines w en the impact i., a preset levo. When impact exceeds this level, the
Mode14081 ches off and mint be manually resey'to restore power..'
• The intri sically safe sensing probe is rigidly attached to the dispenser's frame at a point
1' to 2'a ove the island c ncrete in a vertical position. This sensor is very sensitive to
vertical movement and elatively insensitive to horizontal movement. This makes it ideal
for monitoring vehic ar impact and seismographic activity while remaining immune to
normal dispenser ro gh handling.
• The Model 408 ut' es the same controller as ourMod 406 Pump Cut-Off and the controller
will drive both s ` sors if you require liquid detection*well as impact detection. The controller,
which provide an intrinsically safe barrier, operates,bn either 120 or 240 volts and should be
mounted bel grade. The controller should be rioly anchored to the island concrete and the
dispenser nduit should feed the controller before continuing on to the dispenser. The controller
is fully e capsulated and is approved for use in Class 1,Group D environments.
• The odel 408 has been third party tested, and data is available from the factory showing
3-a s response levels at a variety of frequencies. The sensor can be factory set to respond
t custom "G" levels or Richter numbers. The Model 408 system is patent pending.
• f' An adapter kit Model 406A is available to allow the Model 408 to also monitor the
dispenser containment pan for accumulation of liquids.
