The samples were obtained on May 5-6,'1988 <br /> and were collected by driving a modified California spilt spoon with clean <br /> (steam cleaned) 2" X 6" brass sleeves into undisturbed native soil (advanced <br /> through the hollow stem auger). The samples were field screened with a photovac <br /> "Tip" PID detector calibrated with 1 ppm benzene that day, then the ends of <br /> the sleeves *fere capped no headspace (teflon plastic caps) wrapped in aluminum <br /> foil, tapped (duct tape), labeled, placed in zip lock bags, and cooled to 4"C <br /> (ice chest) then delivered with chain of custody to Eureka Laboratory. <br /> t <br />
