Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Reference: BC&D Properties <br /> Site Code 9024 <br /> Contractor #39000 <br /> Subject: Public Health Services Letter of February 8, 1993 <br /> Dear Linda: <br /> We have reviewed the subject letter and will address the items in light of all the previous <br /> site-specific data that has been generated and reported on this property since 1987 through <br /> the current period. <br /> We share your concerns regarding the City of Tracy's well number 5 and, in that regard, <br /> have been vitally concerned about any movement of the near surface groundwater, no <br /> matter how lightly contaminated. <br /> The site-specific local groundwater gradient bears southwesterly between the apparent limits <br /> of S 15° West to S 25° West, a 2.7% radial variance between 1987 and 1992. The gradient <br /> is directionally stable as measured at different intervening seasons of the year and falls <br /> consistently away from the Tracy well facility, located northerly of the site. <br /> We have on file a copy of the Tracy well's installation log confirming the well's construction <br /> and the intervening impervious clay layers between the well collar at the surface and the <br /> potable water stratum hundreds of feet below the existing ground surface. <br /> We are receiving annual copies of the Organic Chemical Analysis of Tracy well number 5 <br /> and confirm that non-detection for aLl organic elements of concern is being reported. <br /> Monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-3 lie in a plane between the former tank site and the <br /> Tracy well. Any movement of contaminated groundwater toward the Tracy well would be <br /> evident in these wells. The total absence of contaminants in MW-1 and MW-3 (as <br />
