I,
Former Discovery Chevrolet March 13, 1997
Tracy,Califomia Work Plan
i
SCOPE OF WORK
1
The following work is proposed to assess soil and groundwater conditions as related to gasoline
hydrocarbons and to collect data to evaluate natural attentuation. Field mthods are described in
Appendix A.
I li
Task 1 Obtain permits, prepare a site safety plan, notify Underground Service Alert, and
II _
schedule contractors.
Task 2 Drill two soil borings and install, develop, survey, and sample two additional
i groundwater monitoring wells (MW-4 and MW-5) in the borings at the locations
shown on Figure 2. The borings will be drilled and sampled as described in
Attachment A. The wells will be installed a minimum of ten feet below
groundwater. A typical monitoring well construction diagram for this site is
shown on Figure 3. Well locations have been selected in areas that will provide
groundwater data crossgradient and downgradient of the known gasoline source f
area. Groundwater level measurements will be taken in the new and previously
u
existing site wells for groundwater gradient evaluation.
,
Task 3 Collect soil samples utilizing a hand-auger in and around the former gasoline-
UST and product line area to delineate gasoline range hydrocarbons in soil in this
area. We estimate that 6 to 8 soil borings to 10 feet will be required to access this
area. Soil samples will be collected at 5 feet bsg and approximately 1 foot above
groundwater.
Task 7 Deliver the soil and groundwater samples under Chain-of-Custody
Documentation to a State-certified hazardous waste testing laboratory for analysis.
i
j 3001-1lb.wp 4 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. f
i
