PHS/EHD has the following comments for your consideration.
The recommendation to revise the groundwater monitoring program is denied as presented; however,
PHS/EHD does approve the following modifications to the quarterly monitoring requirements:
1) All monitoring wells should be gauged quarterly to determine groundwater elevation and
gradient direction.
2) Monitoring wells, U1, U2, U3, U5, U6, U7 and U8 should be sampled semi-annually in
February and October, and
3) Monitoring wells, U4, U9, and U10 should be sampled annually.
The quarterly monitoring report included the results of the February 13, 1995 sampling event which continued
to evidence groundwater contamination.
If you have any questions regarding the approved groundwater monitoring program revision, please contact
Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
/M1_0u
Mary Meays, Senior REHS 11Lt L Diane M.
