Quarterly Summary Report <br /> Second Quarter 1993 <br /> Unocal Bulk Plant 0788 <br /> 8203 East 11th Street <br /> Tracy, California <br /> City/County ID #: Unknown <br /> County: San Joaquin <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> A partially buried 5,000-gallon transmission fluid storage tank was removed on <br /> December 13, 1989, and analysis of soil samples indicated low levels of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons. The San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department <br /> (SJCPHSD) requested additional investigation on January 30, 1990. PACIFIC <br /> installed groundwater monitoring Wells U-1 through U-3 on October 24 and 25, <br /> 1990. Wells U-4 through U-6 and exploratory soil Borings U-A through U-C were <br /> installed in May 1991. On-site Wells U-7 and U-8 and off-site Wells U-9 and U-10 <br /> were installed in March 1992, as described in PACIFIC's Soil and Groundwater <br /> Investigation report, dated June 11, 1992. A Remedial Action Plan (RAP)was <br /> submitted on March 18, 1993. <br /> RECENT QUARTER ACTIVITIES <br /> A completed air emissions permit application was sent to the San Joaquin Valley <br /> Air Pollution Control District on June 16, 1993. Construction drawings for the <br /> remedial system were completed on June 18, 1993. Quarterly groundwater moni- <br /> toring and sampling were performed by GeoStrategies, Inc. <br /> NEXT QUARTER ACTIVITIES <br /> Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling will be performed by <br /> GeoStrategies, Inc. A work plan for implementation of the RAP will be submitted <br /> on July 15, 1993 (PACIFIC will proceed with the schedule outlined in the <br /> March 18, 1993 RAP). <br /> CHARACTERIZATION/REMEDIAL STATUS <br /> Soil contamination delineated? Yes. <br /> Dissolved groundwater delineated? No. <br /> Free product delineated? Not applicable. <br /> Amount of groundwater contaminant recovered this quarter? None. <br /> Soil remediation in progress? No. <br /> Anticipated start? Soil vapor extraction system start-up October 8, 1993. <br /> Anticipated completion date?
