SSA-96-2*; SAN. JOAQUIN COUNTY
- _z6 )
The wastewater that is generated by the existing clieese processing facilities on the DeGroot
property is treated on site. The treatment and disposal facilities are regulated by the Regional I.
I:
Board's Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 91-161 (WDRs). DeGroot and Sons has done
a significant amount of work in the last year improving their existing waste water treatment system.
The quality of the effluent has improved significantly. However, they still have not been in
compliance with their WDR's effluent limit's, and it appears they still have an effluent disposal
problem.
We recommend the county not approve the expansion until the waste water treatment and disposal
facilities have been improved to comply with its current WDRs. If there is any proposed increased
wastewater flows, then DeGroot and Sons will have to also submit a report of waste discharge
(RWD) and a technical report addressing the necessary treatment and hydraulic loading capabilities
of the plant and disposal fields.
If you require any additional information, please contact Michael H. Mosbacher at(916) 255-3030.
1
I
KENNETH D.
