The calculations were based on growth to 1,100 milk
cows, including growth stock(heifers and calves on site).
l
Danny Rocha currently owns 120+acres and leases 53*of which 28 acres are non-farmable land
comprising of milking facilities, corrals, etc.
In order for the dairy to operate under the guidelines of this Study, the dairy must continue to remove all
solid manure produced annually/bi-annually to off-site locations or other retail outlets.
In balancing nutrient loading to this land for crop uptake Best Management Practices discussed in the
Study would dictate analysis of soil and manure laden water be conducted regularly to prevent
degradation of groundwater.
k Several improvements are proposed for this dairy, including tail water return systems that will enhance
manure/cropland application activity.
If you have any questions please contact Robin Trindade, Sr. R.D.I., R.E.H.S., of my staff at(209)468-
3445.
Donna Heran, R.E.H.S., Director
Environmental Health Department
/jlt- ike H ggins, Supervising R.E.H.S., R.D.I.
Unit 11, Land Use and Dairy Programs
mMH/RB: cf
cc: ' Chesney Consulting
Moreda Valley Dairy File }
E
