■ Completely excavate and grade the new channel before fall and winter rains (before <br /> October 31). These flows will +I <br /> gradually increase into the following rainy season. <br /> ■ Construct ape rmanent dam structure at the upstream channel diversion point during the <br /> dry season (before October 31) followed by construction of a second permanent dam <br /> structure at the downstream channel diversion point. <br /> ■ Complete dewatering and earthen fill and stabilization operations for the existing channel <br /> before the start of the rainy season (before October 31). <br /> RECORD DRAWINGS <br /> Within 60 days of completion of mitigation construction, the City will submit to the Corps <br /> records or "as-built" drawings documenting the constructed channel realignment, floodplain <br /> topography, and mitigation plantings. The topography of the mitigation site will be delineated at _ <br /> 1-foot contour intervals. <br /> MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE OF MITIGATION AREAS <br /> Maintenance of Revegetation Material <br /> Maintenance of planted material will include checking each planting location once every <br /> 2 weeks during the first year's growing season (March 1-June 1) to examine plant vigor, plant <br /> protection devices, weed growth,the stability of watering basins. Maintenance of native-grass cover <br /> crop will include eradicating exotic and noxious weeds, protecting embankments and ditches from <br /> erosion, and protecting seeded areas from vehicular traffic. Irrigation system maintenance will include <br /> clearing weeds around the overhead spray sprinklers, cleaning sprinkler heads and drip emitters as <br /> necessary, repairing damaged portions of the system, and ensuring that each plant is receiving <br /> adequate irrigation, <br /> Wetland Mitigation and Monitoring Plan for the Chapter 3.
