i
A specific percent cover criterion has not been identified because adequate quantitative information
on the development of structure or cover of oak woodland is generally not available or may not be
representative of the conditions or species to be installed at Littlejohns Creek.
Remedial Actions
Successful mitigation will create a corridor with riparian habitat values. Remedial action may
be necessary if the performance standards are not achieved. Should the performance standards not
be achieved each year, the City, with the assistance of the restoration specialist, will evaluate potential
reasons for failure and submit a proposed remedy to the Corps for approval before remedial actions
occur. Remedial actions may include replacement plantings and alternative revegetation techniques
for the project.
If replacement plantings are an approved remedial approach, additional cuttings or container
plants will be installed so that standards are met the following year. The density of replacement
-plantings will be based on the growth rates observed onsite during annual monitoring. Necessary
replacement planting of all dead plants over the target plant survival guarantee rates should occur
during the appropriate planting season (i.e., September-November). Replacement stock should be
provided in a container that is at least the same size as that of the original plant and installed using the
same techniques. Enough plant materials, plus a 15% additional quantity to account for mortality of
newly planted stock, will be planted to meet the standard the following spring. Replacement plant
material will be approved by the restoration specialist before cutting, ordering, or propagation.
Mitigation ation Site Access
visit the mitigation site to
The Corps may, from time to time, desire to g inspect the progress
of mitigation implementation. Permission to enter the property will be granted upon notifying the City
at least 48 hours in advance of visitation. The mitigation site is accessible from the entrance to the
Austin Road Landfill.
Notification of Completion
When the initial monitoring period is complete or when the final success criteria have been
met, whichever is longer, the applicant will notify the Corps that mitigation has been completed. The
ort. A current delineation of the
notification will accompany the final annual monitoring report. -
Weiland Mitigation and Monitoring PIanfor the Chapter?.
