SUBJECT This application is for a Department of the Army permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act to fill the existing channel to accommodate solid waste landfill expansion and realign f approximate]), 7,600 feet of the north branch of the south fork of Littlejohns Creek. Ff APPLICANT F The applicant is the City of Stockton (City), Department of Public Works, City Hall, 425 North El Dorado Street, Stockton, California 95202-1997 (2091937-8826). LOCATION j The proposed project is located at the Austin Road Landfill, 3 miles southeast of the City, San Joaquin County, California (Figure 1). The project site is located in portions of Township I South, Range 7 East, Section 3 and Township I North., Range 7 East, Section 34. Thero'e p Jct area is approximately 1 mile east of State Route 99 and is bordered to the east by Austin Road; to the north by the Northern. California Youth Center; to the south by the Forward, Inc. landfill; and to the west by agricultural lands (Figure 2). II PURPOSE AND NEED To meet the long-term disposal needs of its increasing population, the City is proposing to expand the Austin Road Landfill capacity.
