If it is determined at some point in the future that mounding effects are preventing proper effluent
treatment and disposal, the area designated as the 100% replacement areas must be activated. The
reserve area is located directly to the north and northwest of the primary mound disposal area. If for
any reason this area cannot be activated by constructing an additional mound system, then the existing
mound system must be removed, the existing soil-effluent interface rehabilitated by removing the top
six inches of peat soil and replacing with engineered fill, and constructing a new mound system in the
y footprint of the original mound system.
Engineering safeguards for the protection of the levee adjacent to the Bullfrog Landing Marina have
been implemented into the design of the piping and tubing transporting domestic water and domestic
wastewater over the levee. These safeguards include encasing the transport lines in PVC tubing and
placing observation ports on the land-side of the levee. These ports must be inspected on a daily
basis. If wastewater or fresh water is observed in these observation tubes, then there has been a
breach in either of the respective transport lines.
A written maintenance program must be established for the entire wastewater disposal system based
upon the information contained in this Report. As referenced, predicting pump-out intervals for the
two lift station tanks, the 2,000 gallon septic tank, and the 450 gallon pump chamber tank is
impossible due to the number of unknowns. Additionally, the washing off of the filtered lift stations,
2;000 gallon septic tank filter, and filtered pump tank must be made periodically, preferably biweekly
after direct observation.
ff the 2,000 gallon sg tic tank and the 450 gallon.pump chambered are pumped out by a vacuum
truck they must be immediate) -filled with water to prevent buoyancy,This must be conveyed to
the pump truck operator.
Clean-outs must be installed on the PVC influent tubing from the facility to the 2,000 gallon septic
f tank. The location of the clean-outs are illustrated in the Plans. Clean-outs must also be installed at
the distal ends of each lateral as noted on the plan schematics. By using a long "bottle-brush"
arrangement, the interiors of the laterals can be cleaned of potential scum and slime build-up.
Accurate "as-builts" of the septic system must be supplied to the Environmental Health Department by
the contractor/installer. All applicable "distance"and "setback"requirements must be strictly followed.
It is imperative to recd ni a that all-se tics stems and dit oral areas have a li es an. This
hLe pan is unpredictable due to the numerous operationdl and environmental factors involved. A
critical li es an and operational issue is controlling the on-site water use volume as much as
possible. This may be accomplished by using low gow toilets ands do -loaded sink faucets.
Restfictinje water use also intrudes checking or water leaks in toilets do ing faucets, etc. on a
daily basis. When the kitchen/bar comes on-line, water use from this acdjU must be closely
monitored to reduce flow volumes to absolute minimums.
20
Chesney Consulting
