Irerracon
January 29, 2016
Our Project Number: NA167001
Mr. Jason Bradford
1540 Griffith Place
Tracy, CA 95376
Subject: Letter Addendum to Land Use Application #PA-0500081
Groundwater Depth Measurement
6488 West Loramar Lane
Banta, California
Dear Mr. Bradford:
Per your request and as required by the County, Terracon Consultants, Inc. advanced one soil
boring at the proposed residential development at 6488 West Loramar Lane in Banta, California
for the purpose of measuring the present groundwater depth. The following presents the results
of our findings.
The property is approximately 10.24 acres in size and is presently undeveloped. A site location
map and exploration plan are included as Exhibits 1 and 2, respectively. A Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading Study for the property conducted by Chesney Consulting on September 16, 2005
indicated that groundwater was at a depth of 7.5 feet below ground surface (bgs), and that all
septic designs shall be constructed to meet minimum setback requirements of 5-feet from
groundwater. San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department requested the
advancement of the soil boring to groundwater in the location of the proposed septic leach field
system to confirm depth to groundwater and to ensure septic systems placed on the property will
be designed properly. This letter addendum serves to update the Land Use Application #PA-
0500081, Service Request#SR0044104 (cover letter included as Exhibit 5).
On January 21, 2016, one soil boring (GW-1) was advanced at the site with a 4-inch diameter
hand auger. Soils encountered throughout the depth of GW-1 were visually observed by a staff
geologist and recorded for lithology, moisture content, and color. A graphical soil boring log is
included as Exhibit 3. GW-1 was advanced to a depth of approximately 13 feet bgs, and allowed
to remain open for 30 minutes to ensure stabilization of groundwater prior to the water level
measurement. Groundwater depth was measured to the nearest 0.01 foot on the Solinst electric
water indicator and referenced to the top of the boring. Increased soil moisture was encountered
at a depth of 10 feet bgs, and groundwater was found to stabilize at a depth of 11.55 feet bgs.
Terracon 902 Industrial Way Lodi, CA 95240
Main (209) 367-3701 Fax(209)333-8303 Dispatch (209) 263-0600
terracon.com
