A copy of the
portion of the well standards that discuss destruction of domestic wells is enclosed. Destruction of the
domestic well should be according to the standards not as discussed in the work plan.
Destruction of the monitoring wells should not occur until all other work has been performed and PHS/EHD
has requested and obtained concurrence from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for
no further action being required at this site. San Joaquin County Well Standards require that monitoring
wells in areas of contamination, be destroyed by drilling all the material out(overdrill)and filling the
borehole with grout. Monitoring wells MW 101, MW 1 and MW2 are in areas of contamination and must be
overdrilled and the borehole grouted. Monitoring wells MW3, MW4, MW5, MW6 and MW7 can be
destroyed as described in the work plan.
i
Please continue quarterly monitoring of the site wells until this investigation is deemed completed by all
regulatory agencies.
If you have any questions contact me at(209)468-3449.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Margaret Lagorio,Supervising REHS
Site Mitigation Unit
Enc
c:.
