• INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Roman Strauther to
conduct a Nitrate Loading Study for his property located at 200 Best Road, Stockton,
California. Mr. Strauther has indicated that he plans to place two new two-bedroom
mobile homes on the property; a three-bedroom home is already located on the Site.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the proposed development. The study estimates the
potential concentration of percolating effluent produced by the proposed project over the
long term. Where percolating effluent leaches into the ground, ground-water quality
may be impacted to some degree should the effluent reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 103-220-21. The parcel is 2.74
acres in size, and is located at 200 Best Road, Stockton, (Plate 1).
The Site contains a house and shed on the north side. The remainder of the property is
undeveloped (Plate 2). A domestic well supplies water to the Site.
Mr. Strauther indicated that two new two-bedroom mobile homes will be placed on the
Site; new septic systems will be installed to serve the homes.
• LOGE 1818 Page 1
