II. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED MINING OPERATION
A. Map of Operation - See Attached
S. Production Schedule: The estimated annual production for 1994 is
180,000 tons . The maximum design capacity of the processing plant per
SJWAPCD' s permit is 1 ,106, 560 tons per year.
Phase Material (Tons) value
1 22,000,000 $1, 100,000
2 28, 000, 000 $1 ,400 ,000
3 21,000,000 $1,050,000
4 24, 000 , 000 $1 , 200, 000
Total 95,000; 000 $4,750,000
C. Mining Plan:
I
1 . Operating Plan: Current permit expires in 1996 . Mining will be
continued upon approval of this application and will continue
operation year round.
I
2 . Topsoil : Soil profile is essentially uniform throughout . No
topsoil has been. observed. All material is to be processed.
3 . Overburden/waste/Ore:
a. The mine is an open pit. I
b. Material is excavated using a 9 yard loader, an excavator, a
bulldozer and/or rubber tired scrapers . This equipment
delivers material directly to the plant or conveyors leading
to the plant.
C . No blasting is anticipated. 1
d. All material will be processed.
e. The maximum anticipated depth of the mine is 150 ft.
f. The maximum depth between benches is 50 ft. , bench width is
12 ft. , and the maximum slope angles will be 2 : 1 .
g. In this excavation, the contour created by the excavation
will be the final contour required in the reclamation plan.
Cuts will not create interim slopes that need backfilling
during reclamation. The final contour will be created as
the excavation progresses . Also, land that will not be
under excavation will remain under agricultural cultivation.
No earth moving will be required. At the completion the
last phase (phase Iv) the additional requirement will be the
removal of the equipment and structures.
