The project consists of a plan to construct a
306-lot residential subdivision on 90 acres near Lockeford, in San Joaquin County. —
The proposed project will result in the conversion of 90 acres of .
open-space/agricultural lands to non-open space use and will have a significant
negative effect by contributing to the cumulative loss of wildlife habitat. San Joaquin
County is a participant in the San Joaquin Multi-Species Conservation Plan (SJMSCP)
which addresses impacts to wildlife and their habitat. Under the terms of the
Implementing Agreement for the SJMSCP, participating local governments have
committed to ensure that any project which they approve within the SJMSCP area pays
appropriate development fees or is required to include minimization or mitigation
measures, as described in the SJMSCP, as conditions of project approval. Therefore,
we recommend that you condition the proposed project so that it is consistent with the
SJMSCP.
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Sections 21092 and 21092.2, the DFG
requests written notification of proposed actions and pending decisions regarding this
project. Written notifications should be directed to this office.
