EIGHT MILE ROAD, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95209, (209)953-8800
June 30 , 1992
Richard Larrouy
San Joaquin County Planning Division
181.0 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
RE: Application No. (S) : SU-91.-15 (Pre-Application)
RIVER OAKS
The San Joaquin Department of Parks and Recreation does not
provide recreation for the Lockford area and has no funding
mechanism to maintain or develop Parks for this area. The
following are some alternatives for the acceptance of the
proposed park:
The subdivision map act allows that the park may be donated to
a public entity that provides recreation facilities in the area.
The local school district or the Lockford Community Services
District may accept the park. It is our understanding that the
Community Services District has legal responsibility to provide
park services for the area.
This Department would recommend acceptance of the proposed
community park as a requirement for approval of the above
subdivision, if the following conditions are placed on the
project ' s approval :
1 . The Developer designs and constructs the park to San Joaquin
County Department of Parks and Recreation standards, or the
standards of the agency that will operate the facility.
2 . A funding mechanism. for continuing maintenance of the
facility is approved and the responsibility for operations
and maintenance is identified.
s
i
I
