P4
SKS Enterprise Chicken Ranch TL Project No. F52429.01-01
23709 East Brant Road Page 3
Lodi,California
SIE OBSERVATIONS AND RESULTS
Grading was completed prior to Twining's arrival at the site. The in-place density tests were
performed by W.Mike Cole,Twining's Engineering Technician,periodically from September 14
through 28,2004. A total of fifty-eight(58) in-place density tests were conducted. The results of
the in-place density tests ranged from a low of 94 percent to a high of 100 percent relative
compaction. The individual test data is summarized in the attached Table Two.
CONCLU I,ONS
Based on the results of the in-place density tests, we conclude that the native fill soil placed was
tested and compacted to at least 90 percent relative compaction. E
LUITATIONS #
It should be noted that the precision of the field density and laboratory maximum dry density test #
results are subject to variation inherent with testing procedures and heterogeneous soil
characteristics_ Quantitative values of testing precision have been documented by the American r
Society of Testing and Materials. Results indicate the accuracy of the ASTM D-1557 test to be plus i
or minus 4 percent of the mean density. Based on this information, relative compaction results
should be interpreted as approximate values subject to variations in lateral and vertical directions_
Survey lines and elevations relative to grade modifications, final design grades, locations of various
elements, etc_were established by others.
This report represents the condition of the barn pad areas as of the date the compaction tests were
conducted. If the areas tested are disturbed by natural or man-made causes, the areas should be re-
tested to verify adequate compaction and stability. The test procedures used complied with generally
accepted methods practiced in the industry. The data presented in this report is provided for
informational purposes only.
