Knife River Corporation dba KRC Aggregates (Discharger) submitted a Report of .Waste <br /> Discharge (RWD), dated 2 March 2001, to treat and dispose of industrial wastewater <br /> generated at the KRC Aggregates Plant, an aggregate mining and washing facility. <br /> Additional information was.submitted on 19 March 2001. , <br /> 2. The Discharger owns and operatesan aggregate mining and processing facility thatiF <br /> discharges approximately 7.2 million gallons per day (mgd) of wastewater from sand and <br /> gravel washing operations to a settling/recycling pond system. Most of the washwater is <br /> recycled, however, approximately 1,000 gallons per minute (1.4 mgd) maybe fresh' ell <br /> water depending on product specifications. <br /> fig. <br /> -A <br /> 3. The KRC Aggregate plant is located at 24717 E. Brandt Road,.Clements. The facility is in <br /> Sections 29,30, and 31, T4N, R9E, MDB&M as shown on Attachment A, which is <br /> attached hereto and made part'of the Order by reference. .. i <br /> 4. The property and aggregate washing equipment is owned and operated'by the Discharger. <br /> The facility-is on Assessor's Parcel Numbers 23-19-01 and -02; 23-16-02 and -03; and <br /> 23-27-09. -'r- <br /> 5. The facility was constructed in 1986 and was operating in early 1988; it has operated <br /> consistently since then. p <br /> 6. Waste Discharge'Requirements Order No. 94-300; adopted by the Board on 28 October <br /> . 1994,.prescribes requirements for discharge of wastewater at KRC Aggregate, Inc.'s <br /> facility to recycling, evaporation, and percolation ponds on a 100 acre mining and <br /> processing property. Order No. 94-300 is neither adequate nor consistent with current <br /> plans and policies of the Board. ;F <br /> 7.
