Protected species include those listed as threatened or
endangered by the state (CDFG) or the federal government (USFWS) ,
proposed for listing by the USFWS, or candidates for listing by
the state.
A review of the NDDB and other sources was performed to
determine which animal species could potentially occur on the +
project site given their habitat requirements and geographic
distribution. An analysis of recorded observations of sensitive
animal species on the
Fj'
p project site was also conducted. No such
observations have been recorded, but the California tiger sala-
mander (Ambystoma californiense) , a California species of special
concern and federal category 2 candidate, has been observed
approximately 2 miles north of the project site, in the vicinity
of Camanche Reservoir. The existence of suitable habitat creates
the potential for the California tiger salamander and three other
wildlife species to occur on the project site.
KRC Aggregate, Inc.
- 11 - April 1, 1994
