• Water Sample
Because no wells are on Site, no water sample was collected as part of this study.
Soil Profile and Geologic Information
A portion of the Site is depicted on the Geologic maps of the Sacramento-San Joaquin
Delta, California (Atwater, B.F., 1982). The Site is depicted within a map unit described
as "alluvial fan deposits derived from unglaciated drainage basins" of the Calaveras
River and vicinity (Plate 7).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the USDA Web
Soil Survey to be composed of Jacktone-Urban land complex (Plate 8) (USDA, 2016).
The table below presents some selected properties of this soil:
Table 1. See description of the map unit for
composition and behavior characteristics of the map unit.
Soil Borings
On February 13, 2018, Live Oak excavated one shallow soil boring on the Site for the
purpose of conducting a percolation test. The boring was four inches in diameter, 3.00
feet deep, and was excavated by hand auger. The location of the boring is indicated on
Plate 9.
The soil in the boring was similar to that described by the Soil Survey. Sandy clay was
encountered to a depth of 2.0 feet, followed by silty clay to the full depth of the hole.
The log for the soil boring is presented in Plate 10.
• LOGE 1806 Page 4
