The project,
located at 1601 N.Budiselich Rd in Stockton, proposes a commodities and wholesale
distribution facility to include a 70,000 square foot warehouse building with outside storage of
inventories.
Upon review of the project, the Department has the following comments:
1. On April 20,2012,Mike Persak,Consultant,of Stantec provided the following information:
"Assume that all 20 deliveries per shift are STAA trucks. Of these 40 trips(20
inbound, 20 outbound), we estimate that all will be on Highway 26 and none on
Highway 88. Also, we estimate that 50%will use northbound Highway 99 and 50%
will use southbound 99."
SR-26 has a two-way-left-turn-lane at Darrigo Lane and Beyer Lane. Based on the
information provided above,it appears that access to the proposed project site will be made
via the SR-26/Darrigo Lane intersection and/or the SR-26/Beyer Lane intersection.
Therefore,please provide the following:
• A letter to Caltrans Traffic Operations requesting STAA designation of the
proposed facility as an STAA terminal. Please refer to this website for more
information:http://www.dot.ca.¢ov/hgttraffops/trucks/routes/ta-process.htm
• STAA truck turning templates for the anticipated inbound and outbound
movements at the SR-26/Danigo Lane and SR-26/Beyer Lane intersections. The
intersections may need to be improved to meet STAA long turning radius
requirements.
"Callmns improws mobility across Callfarnia"
