i A SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY, ACAMPO ESTATES Page No. 2 f III. PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE. SITE } The subject property has been used for horse pasture for the last 25 years. For 35 years prior to that, it was used as a dairy. Structures on the property consist of a single family house, a mobile home, two horse barns, and a hay barn. IV. EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK USAGE The existing house located in the NE corner of the subject property is utilizing an on site sewage disposal system. Due to changes in ownership the exact type, size, age, or history of the system is unknown. It is apparent that the system at least consist of a septic tank and shallow leach lines. Due to the cemented nature of the surface soils it is likely that dry wells are being utilized but this can not be verified. There have been no problems experienced with the system within the last _i years. It is our understanding that this house and system will remain as part of the subject subdivision. The neighbors in the immediate area also use on site sewage disposal g g p systems. These systems generally consist of a septic tank, leach lines, and dry wells. Several of the neighbors were interviewed to determine the history of septic systems in the general area and to help in assessing the feasibility of the subject property for the proposed septic system usage. LOCATION: East of NE corner of property AGE OF HOUSE: 43 years SEPTIC SYSTEM: Yes, the septic system consists of a 1500 gallon septic tank located on the west side of house and an 80 foot leech line running north towards road. Unlike the surrounding area, this system is located in sandy surface soils, therefore no dry well has been necessary to service a household of two.
