(S,1p .=. been working under the direction of the <br /> San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health (SJCEHD) to monitor and manage <br /> groundwater affected by releases of gasoline and diesel; that occurred at Mr. Carl Navarra's <br /> property at 7500 West Eleventh Street-,in Tracy, California, located across the highway from <br /> your property at 7501 West Eleventh Stre l.,For the past several'years we have been sampling <br /> groundwater in monitoring wells that are 10aated ''on,. our property-.. <br /> At this stage of our work we have been`-directed"by.; the-SJCEHD to actively remediate <br /> groundwater affected by ,gasoline and diesel thafis locatedbeneath the southeast corner of the <br /> parking lot at 7501 Wes#�Eleventh Street and beneath the adjacent land to the south. <br /> 11 <br /> The remediation work involves eX avation of one�73-ft. long by 4-ft. wide trench from which <br /> groundwater will be pumpedp`directly'iirto-vacuum trucks and shipped off-site for disposal. At <br /> present, thereaxe..two°possible-locations for the.trench (see attached Figure 1). The trench will be <br /> excavated.either just'-dutside th es,southeast corner of the parking lot along its Eleventh Street <br /> frontage or it will be excavated throe, h-thb parking lot paving a short distance inside its curb. A <br /> final'ydecisibn regarding tlb, exact trench location will be made in the field following a detailed <br /> survey of" the,locations of: underground utilities. After working hours, or whenever the <br /> construction crew-:is not present at the site, the open trench will be enclosed within a locked, 6-ft. <br /> high, temporary `chdin-link fence. <br /> When the work is completed, the trench will be backfilled and the area returned to its present <br /> J.condition. That work''will include full restoration of the parking lot paving, including any <br /> damage that may occur due to operation of the construction equipment. The area of the parking <br /> lot that will be occupied by construction equipment and materials is shown on the Figure, but, in <br /> addition, it will be necessary for trucks to enter and leave the site via both the Chrisman Road <br /> and West Eleventh Street entrances. <br /> We expect the work, including restoration, to be completed within less than 10 days from the <br /> time the operations begin.
