PUBLIC HtALTHSERVIcts(
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 93202 Q1Fo. i
2091468-3420
SEP 19 2000
CARL NAVARRA
485 BLEWETT ROAD
TRACY CA 95376
RE: 7500 W. 11th Street SITE CODE: 1392
Tracy CA 95376
An initial site investigation took place at the above referenced site in April 2000 under
permit and inspection by San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (PHSIEHD). A series of 13 direct-push soil borings and 7 monitoring
wells were installed. Soil samples for analysis were collected during the investigation.
On May 11, 2000 the monitoring wells were developed and groundwater samples
collected. To date, a report of this work has not been submitted to PHSIEHD.
Reports of Findings must be submitted to PHSIEHD within 60 days following the
completion of each phase of work in a site investigation. Please submit a Report of
Findings for the work described above to PHSIEHD immediately. Additionally, quarterly
groundwater monitoring must be performed until otherwise directed by PHSIEHD. A
second quarterly monitoring event should have been conducted in August 2000. This
event must be scheduled immediately. Please note that stabilization parameters must
be measured during the purging of stagnant water from the well casing prior to collecting
water samples. Both the California State Water Resources Control Board, as referenced
in the Leaking Underground Fuel Tank (LUFT) Field Manuel, and the United States
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommend that monitoring wells are purged
until a minimum of three well volumes are removed, or until measured parameters of pH,
temperature and conductivity of the discharged water stabilize to +1-10% over two
successive well volumes. In the future, water samples collected without the
measurement of parameters will not be recognized by PHSIEHD.
If you have any questions or comments, please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environments!
