C
PC: 3--17-88
ER-88-1/CP-87-16/
ZR-87-35/SU-87-23
ATTACHMENT B
STATEMENT OF OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS
FOR THE MORADA MEADOWS PROJECT
The project will result in unavoidable environmental changes,
some of which may be detrimental to San Joaquin County residents
and their environment . These detrimental changes, however, are
outweighed by:
1 . Economic benefits of the project to San Joaquin County,
including housing and employment opportunities .
2 . Utilization of an area immediately adjacent to existing rural
residential development which reduces pressure for urbaniza-
tion on more pure agricultural. lands .
3 . Potential land use conflicts between agricultural and resi-
dential uses, and increased demand for law enforcement and A
schools. Any adverse effects of the project such as the loss
of agricultural land are acceptable adverse effects.
i
-22-
