Page 17 additional or alternate samples to be obtained as was appropriate to accomplish the f'r objectives of the site characterization program. !'.= Following sample recovery, each sample tube was cleaned externally, its ends covered with Teflon foil and closed with tightly-fitting plastic caps secured with adhesive-less tape. Each sample tube was then labeled for identification, entered into chain-of-custody control and packed on chemical ice for transport, within 10 hours, to Severn Trent Laboratories, hic.'s (STL) Pleasanton, California laboratory. In the case of small-diameter exploratory borings PP-15 and PP-16, a 0.5-in. push probe was mounted on the drilling rig and used to advance the borings into the subsurface. F.: Except where there was no recovery, soil samples were also recovered from those borings at approximate 5-ft. intervals using a 4-ft long, split-spoon sampling tool with a %-inch diameter Teflon liner. 5.6 Analyses of Soil Samples Each soil sample submitted to the laboratory was analyzed for the following suite of analytes.
