Recommendations
Action
It is recommended that the Planning Commission:
1. Approve the Negative Declaration;
2. Recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt a motion of intent to approve General Plan
Amendment Application No. GP-98-2 based on the ability to make the required "Basis for
General Plan Amendment;"and
3. Recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt a motion of intent to approve Zone
Reclassification Application No. ZR-98-8 based on the ability to make the required "Bases for
Zone Reclassification."
Basis for General Plan Amendment
1. The internal consistency of the General Plan is maintained in the adoption of the Amendment.
.. This determination can be made because the proposal is consistent with the
developmental and locational criteria for General Commercial areas contained in
Volume I of the General Plan
Bases for Zone Reclassification
1. The proposed zone district is consistent with the General Plan.
• This determination can be made because the C-G zone is a consistent
implementing zone for the CIG designation.
2. The proposed zone district is reasonable and beneficial at this time.
This determination can be made because public services are already provided to
the site, the proposal is consistent with the General Plan, and the rezoning will
enable the applicants to improve the property, which will in tum benefit the
neighborhood.
San Joaquin County GP-98-2, ZR-98-8/Harris
Community Development Page 6
