Page 17 <br /> 4.0 MONITORING OF POTABLE WATER SUPPLIES <br /> In accordance with SJC's recommendation that was approved by the SJCEHD following <br /> the completion of the round of monitoring conducted on February 25, 2005,the scope of <br /> the potable water supply monitoring program was reduced by elimination of sampling of <br /> water in the potable water supply wells at Carmelo Business Park, 7601 West Eleventh <br /> Street and 24195 South Chrisman Road. Those wells either extract water from at least <br /> F-s- 470 ft. BGS, which is well below the Corcoran clay aquitard t <br /> ee Section 1.4 for a <br /> ogeology) or, in case se of the 24195 <br /> discussion of the regional stratigraphy and hydr <br /> located well up the groundwater gradient from the <br /> South Chrisman Road sampling point, <br /> location on the 7500 West 11th Street property where hydrocarbon fuels were released <br /> T< into the subsurface. The owners of those wells have been notified that monitoring for <br /> components of fuel hydrocarbons in potable water on their properties has been <br /> }.._ completed. <br /> During the June 2005 round of monitoring of groundwater in wells that are used to <br /> supply potable water, samples were recovered from the potable water wells at the <br /> following addresses. <br /> 1 7500 West Eleventh Street <br /> 23901 South Chrisman Road <br /> 23950 South Chrisman Road <br /> 4.1 Recovery and Analysis of Samples from Potable Water Supply Wells <br /> 3 On June 20, 2005, a fifth round of potable water-quality monitoring was conducted, <br /> encompassing the three wells noted above. <br /> Before the recovery of samples, each well pump was turned on and water was flushed <br /> €: through the sampling port for a few minutes. Laboratory-supplied glassware, with, as <br /> } appropriate, pre-dispensed preservatives, was then completely filled with water from the <br /> ' g p <br /> sarn lin ort. When full the glassware was tightly closed, labeled for identification, and <br /> p <br /> transported,within 24 hours,to STL's laboratory in Pleasanton, California. <br /> ` Each water sample was analyzed for the following suite of analytes: <br /> Anal e Method of Analysis <br /> Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 8015M <br /> (quantified as Diesel) with pre-treatment by <br /> EPA Method 3630. <br /> Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 8260B <br /> (quantified as Gasoline) <br /> Benzene EPA Method 8260B <br /> sic <br />
