Report: Groundwater-quality Monitoring—June 23-28,2005, 7500 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, CA. Page 17
4.0 MONITORING OF POTABLE WATER SUPPLIES
In accordance with SJC's recommendation that was approved by the SJCEHD following
the completion of the round of monitoring conducted on February 25, 2005,the scope of
the potable water supply monitoring program was reduced by elimination of sampling of
water in the potable water supply wells at Carmelo Business Park, 7601 West Eleventh
Street and 24195 South Chrisman Road. Those wells either extract water from at least
F-s- 470 ft. BGS, which is well below the Corcoran clay aquitard t
ee Section 1.4 for a
ogeology) or, in case se of the 24195
discussion of the regional stratigraphy and hydr
located well up the groundwater gradient from the
South Chrisman Road sampling point,
location on the 7500 West 11th Street property where hydrocarbon fuels were released
T< into the subsurface. The owners of those wells have been notified that monitoring for
components of fuel hydrocarbons in potable water on their properties has been
}.._ completed.
During the June 2005 round of monitoring of groundwater in wells that are used to
supply potable water, samples were recovered from the potable water wells at the
following addresses.
1 7500 West Eleventh Street
23901 South Chrisman Road
23950 South Chrisman Road
4.1 Recovery and Analysis of Samples from Potable Water Supply Wells
3 On June 20, 2005, a fifth round of potable water-quality monitoring was conducted,
encompassing the three wells noted above.
Before the recovery of samples, each well pump was turned on and water was flushed
€: through the sampling port for a few minutes. Laboratory-supplied glassware, with, as
} appropriate, pre-dispensed preservatives, was then completely filled with water from the
' g p
sarn lin ort. When full the glassware was tightly closed, labeled for identification, and
p
transported,within 24 hours,to STL's laboratory in Pleasanton, California.
` Each water sample was analyzed for the following suite of analytes:
Anal e Method of Analysis
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 8015M
(quantified as Diesel) with pre-treatment by
EPA Method 3630.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 8260B
(quantified as Gasoline)
Benzene EPA Method 8260B
sic
