• INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnviron mental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Cliff Lenzi to conduct a
Nitrate Loading Study for the property located at 3222 East Collier Road, Acampo,
California. Mr. Lenzi plans to subdivide the property into eight new parcels.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the proposed development. The study estimates the
potential concentration of percolating effluent produced by the proposed project over the
long term. Where percolating effluent leaches into the ground, ground-water quality
may be impacted to some degree should the effluent reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 005-146-07. The parcel is 16.67
acres in size, and is located at 3222 East Collier Road, Acampo, California (Plate 1).
• A house and outbuildings are currently located on the Site; Mr. Lenzi indicated that they
will be demolished. The remainder of the Site is open land. A domestic well supplies
water to the Site (Plate 2).
The Site will be subdivided into eight new parcels (Plate 3). Mr. Lenzi indicated that he
is selling the property as bare lots. He believes a three- or four-bedroom home will
likely be constructed on each new parcel of the Site by the purchaser. New septic
systems will be installed to serve the homes.
• LOGE 1836 Page 1
