Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Workplan for Additional Subsurface Investigation at Fayette Manufacturing
Corporation Site, 7675 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Rowe:
ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this workplan, on behalf of Dr. A.R. Glover, for the
performance of additional subsurface investigation activities at the above referenced site. The
purpose of the subsurface investigation is to evaluate the horizontal extent of petroleum impacted
soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks (USTs). This work
being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) in correspondence dated November 16, 1998.
The scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing three soil borings and collecting soil
samples, installing three groundwater monitoring wells, developing the wells, collecting
groundwater samples, laboratory analysis of selected soil and groundwater samples, and preparing
a summary report. The scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs.
SITE LOCATION
The project site is located at 7675 West Eleventh Street, between MacArthur Drive and Chrisman
Road, in Tracy, California. The site location is shown on Figure 1. The vicinity of the site is
primarily a commercial and industrial area. The property is owned by Dr. A.R. Glover and is
operated as a lumber yard.
BACKGROUND
On October 15, 1986, two 500-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed
from the site. During removal of the USTs, petroleum product was noted in the southern UST
excavation (Figure 2). Soil samples were collected from 2 feet below the bottom of the USTs,
and petroleum constituents and lead were detected in the soil samples.
w 117861\reponslwkpwel.&c 1
