This work
was performed as a new addendum to a Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study dated October 12,2000: Two
(2)addendum letters dated November 27,2000 and dated April 12,2001 in addition to this letter, supplement
the original-report.
General
Eleven (11)new proposed residential parcels, whose size ranges from 2.10 to 2.47 acres, are
planned to be included as part of the residential development: The location of the eleven(11)parcels are
shown o' Plate no. 1. We understand from San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (SJC PHS-EHD) that additional percolation'tests and an.addendum letter to the,Soil
,Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study dated October 12,2000 would be required for the project.
Our scope of work included conducting eight(8) new percolation tests, one on each of eight (8)
parcels which have not received a test. Three(3) of the eleven(11)parcels are in areas which have been.
evaluated by a.percolation test performed by our office during the first phase of percolation testing last year.
In addition,an addendum letter describing theyesults of the testing and our recommendations was prepared.
Test.Borin s
On August 8,.10,and,16,2001,eight(8)percolation testborings were drilled on eight parcels(Plate
1).Generally,the eight(8)borings composed of similar materials which consisted of a mix of medium sand
within a'matrix of.silt or clay.Below clayey surface soils, sandy silt was the predominate soil type.A thin
clean sandy stratum was normally encountered between the depths of 7-feet to 21-feet. This sandy zone was
selected, farthe percolation test. The-soils encountered during the drilling of the eight(8)percolation test
holes.were similar of the soil conditions encountered-at other locations of the site:
