The surface soils are low permeability,often containing dark clay soils,which provide optimum conditions for denitrification within leach lines.Due to the highly heterogeneous'soils,the deep depth.to ground water,clayey surface soils,we do not believe that the rapid percolation rate will cause a buildup of nitrates in ground water above 10-mg/L=N. This issue was . discussed in more detail in the Addendum letter dated November 27,2000. After a review ofprevious work conducted at the site and work comp during this effort,we have concluded that the new parcels are suitable for use with a septic system using,leach lines-and seepage pits.
