INTRODUCTION <br /> Our office was contracted by Mr. George Rose to conduct a Soil Suitability/Nitrate <br /> Loading Study for the 40+- acre parcel located at 30821 E. Edwards Avenue near Oakdale, <br /> California(Plate 1)_ This study was required by San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division for the proposed lot line adjustment. The assessors parcel number for the subject parcel <br /> is(APN) 207-250-055. The San Joaquin County approval number for the project is LA-00-52. <br /> The Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study was conducted to detennine if the proposed <br /> parcels are suitable for the use of a septic system and to estimate the potential impact to ground <br /> water. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the <br /> San Joaquin County Development. Major elements of the field work included one exploratory <br /> soil boring per parcel and one in-situ percolation test as required by San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services in a letter dated August 23, 2000, Requirement A. An examination of the <br /> published soil information, geologic.maps, and available ground water information, exploratory <br /> borings,percolation rates,water quality test, septic permit records, well records, and nitrate <br /> loading analysis, was used to complete the investigation. <br /> II. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT <br /> The proposed project site is located along a portion north of East Edwards Avenue and a <br /> portion west of Cometa Road near Valley Home, California(Plate 1). The project will involve' <br /> the realignment of lot lines for twenty-two (22)parcels ranging in size between 0.14-acres to <br /> 6.32-acres. Four(4) of the smallest sized parcels(Parcels 16, 18, 20, and 22) are not planned for . <br /> residential development. The larger sixteen(16)remaining parcels are planned for residential .' <br /> home sites utilizing septic systems for sewage disposal and ground water for,domestic purposes. <br />
