Fayette Manufacturing Cor - 3 - ,' October 25, 2011
In-Situ Soil/ Groundwater Remediation: Dual phase extraction pilot test, conducted in
August 2010, removed 4548 gallons of contaminated groundwater. Ozone sparging pilot
test, conducted August 2010 -
General Site Conditions -
• Geology and Hydrogeology: The Site is underlain by interbedded and intermixed sand,
silt and clay. The depth to groundwater is approximately 6 feet bgs and the groundwater
gradient is northerly at approximately 0.002 feet/foot
• Estimate of Hydrocarbon Mass in Soil: Prior to remediation, ATC Associates estimated
that approximately 54 pounds of TPHg was calculated to remain in site soils
• Groundwater Trends: There are more than 16 years of groundwater monitoring data for
this Site. A
records search at the Department of Water Resources and an on-the-ground survey in the area
was conducted.
Recommendation
May 2008, the Fund recommends that the San Joaquin County LOP direct the Responsible
Party to assess remedial technologies and implement active remediation to achieve Water
Quality Objectives in a timely manner. In addition, the Fund recommends that the Responsible
Party conduct regular monitoring and upload all data to Geotracker. The Fund will review this
site next year to track progress.
UPDATED, May 2009, this investigation has been underway for 21 years. The San Joaquin
County LOP directed the Responsible Party to conduct dual phase extraction and air/oxygen
sparging. The Fund concurs and will review this site next year to.track progress.
