On 18 February 2009, the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department(EHD)directed that monitoring wells MWA and MW-4 through MW-8
be sampled annually and the groundwater be analyzed only for MTBE; the EHD also directed that MW-2
and MW-3 be sampled semi-annually and the groundwater be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE.
On 01 July 2009, the EHD directed that MW-2 through MW-4 be sampled semi-annually; and MW-1 and
MW-5 through MW-8 be sampled annually. The directive also implied that the groundwater
samples should to be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX and MTBE. The letter also stated that the newly installed
monitoring well should be sampled quarterly until a concentration trend is established.
I have reviewed the analytical data from Fourth Quarter 2011 Groundwater Monitoring Report for the
Fayette Manufacturing Site, 7675 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, California, LOP Site Code:2233(report),
dated 28 September 2012. Based on the historical analytical data presented in the report, please
proceed as follows:
• Annually collect groundwater from MW-1 and MW4 through MW-9 and analyze the samples for
MTBE only;
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from MW-2 and MW-3 and analyze the samples for TPH-g,
BTEX and MTBE.
This means that you do not sample MW-4 and MW-9 during the December sampling event.
Please let me know when you will be at the site so that I can be present.
1/7/2013
