The project consists of a plan to subdivide a 23-acre parcel into ten 2-acre <br /> lots. The project is located on the northeast corner of Cooperopolis Road and Hewitt <br /> Road east of Linden, in San Joaquin County. <br /> Wildlife habitat resources consist of annual grasslands. Significant resources I <br /> within the project vicinity include vernal pool and vernal swale habitat. California j <br /> Natural Diversity Data Base files contain records for the tiger salamanderAmbystoma' j° <br /> cal fbrniense within the project vicinity. Additionally, environmental studies <br /> performed in an area a short distance east of the proposed project at the Flowers I <br /> Ranch disclosed the presence of vernal pools. <br /> For the .easons noted above, ■.:Te rtcomme.nd at a biological survey of the site <br /> be performed. The survey should be designed to disclose the presence of vernal pools) <br /> or vernal pool associated sensitive species. We further recommend that surveys for <br /> sensitive species be conducted in coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br /> Service. If sensitive species are located on the project site, the project applicant <br /> should provide a means of either avoiding impacts to sensitive species, or lessening .I k <br /> impacts to a level that is not significant. <br /> 5 <br /> This project will have an impact to fish and/or wildlife habitat. Assessment of <br /> fees under Public Resources Code Section 21089 and as defined by Fish and Game <br /> Codle Section 711.4 is necessary. Fees are payable by the project applicant upon <br /> filing of the Notice of Determination by the lead agency. <br />
