a
July 6, 2004
NOA Project Number: E04017A
Page 7
Table 3.
Determine Tank Capacity
For A Pump Out Interval Tank Size Q PF Ratio
(Yrs) (Gallons) (gpd) (Peak/Avg) (Tank Size/Q)
3 13,440 4,800 1.5 2.8
4 15,360 4,800 1.5 3.2
5 17,520 4,800 1.5 3.7
6 19,200 4,800 1.5 4.0
Including the grease trap, l st floor pumping station, and the septic tanks, the combined tank
capacity is 14,800 gallons. Given this volume,we believe that six (6) septic tanks, each with a
2,000 gallon capacity, may require cleaning every two (2) to (3)years. Cleaning frequency of
the proposed 2,000 gallon grease trap may be three (3) to four(4) times a year based on previous
club use.
Pump Selection and Transport Line:
Two pump stations will be necessary to move the wastewater from the first floor pumping
station tank to the disposal field. The first floor pump station (Phase B)will move raw sewage
and shower water from a first floor pumping station tank to the main tank battery. A pumping
station, located in the last compartment of the last tanks, will pump the effluent to the disposal
fields located approximately 1,300 lineal feet from the tank battery pumping station.
The fust floor pump is an Orenco products Solids Handling Pump (PSE5011), duplex (two
pump) system. The first floor pumping station will provide 30 gallons per minute (gpm) of
sewage per pump into the tank battery. For normal operation, these pumps will alternate. For
high use periods, both pumps will operate together.
The effluent pump, located in the last compartment of the septic tank battery, will be an Orenco
products effluent pump (P300511) which can provide 30 gpm flow to the disposal field. For
normal operation, these pumps will alternate. For high use periods, both pumps will operate
together. No additional lift station is required.
The pump design and transport pipe size was calculated by our office and confirmed by Orenco
Inc. using Orenco Inc. design tools. A 2-inch diameter PVC schedule 40 pipe should be used for
transport lines from each pump station. Each pump station should have a separate duplex panel
with alarms. An on demand dose system should be used with a lag enabled float.
