PERM ifi/SERVICES
1710 Main Street
Escalon, CA 95320
GENSTAR/WESTERN STONE PRODUCTS, 8181 WEST ELEVENTH STREET,_ TRACY
We have evaluated the proposed alternatives for disposing the treated
excavation water at the subject site. We have also discussed your disposal
alternatives with MagylWys of San Joaquin County's Environmental Health and
with Robert Sagaser of the City of Tracy's Sewer Treatment Plant. Based on
our discussions with the County and City there are only two of the
alternatives are considered viable; utilization of the water in the concrete
batch plant or a controlled discharge to the ground for dust control and
percolation. Our preferred disposal option (the City's, County's, and the
Regional Board's) is utilization of the treated excavation water in the
concrete batch plant. However, discharge to the ground for dust control and
percolation, is acceptable provided the following precautionary and
housekeeping requirements are met: all areas receiving water must be bermed
or runoff prevented from leaving the Genstar/Western Stone Products property
and discharge water is not to come in contact with any of the stockpiled tank
excavation soils. We also recommend that no vehicle or equipment traffic
occur in the bermed areas for a minimum of two days after all standing water
has percolated into the ground.
If you need any additional information please call me at 916-255-3030.
_ q k"J,
/
MICHAEL H.
