(GTI), and has the following comments.
The work plan proposes that GTI will examine three different methods of contaminant
destruction to be used with the soil vapor extraction system. SJCIEHD had previously
suggested this be done, it is a natural progression in the operation of a remediation
system of this type, and agrees with the proposal. However, further feasibility studies
are not necessary. It should be a simple matter to evaluate the influent air contaminant
concentrations that have been documented during the system operation, and
determining if it would be appropriate at this time to switch to a less aggressive system
of contaminant destruction. Once a decision has been made, please give written
notification to SJCIEHD of which method will be used, and restart the system. The
system has been out of operation for almost five months at this time. Resumption of the
remediation should begin as soon as possible.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department
oeG
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
