C Tan-Gray Sand(SP)
This soil was encountered in the following boring, at the following depths:
Boring
P-2 4.5' — 12.0'
Ground Water was not encountered..
PERCOLATION TESTS
Information on the Percolation Tests and the data from the Percolation Tests will be presented
in a separate report
SEISMICITY
The site is located approximately 45 Kilometers northeast of the Vaca-Kirby Hill-Montezuma
Hills/e Fault Zone. This fault has a potential to cause moderate strength seismic events.
The site is located at 38.8468 latitude and-121.14706 longitude. We recommend that your
structural engineer use these coordinates to obtain the latest seismic design criteria. The site
class is D for the site.
FIELD INVESTIGATION
Our field investigation included a visual reconnaissance of the existing surface condition,
subsurface exploratory borings and obtaining representative soil samples for laboratory
testing. Subsurface conditions were explored by drilling two borings which were 15.5 and
24.0 feet deep, using a MATS B-61 drill rig. The lags of these borings which presents
descriptions and classifications of the soil strata encountered using the Unified Soil
Classifications System has been included in Appendix rl A Unified Soil Classification symbol
explanation has been included as Plate 1. The boring locations are shown on Figure 2
Representative soil samples were obtained from the boring at selected depths for
transportation to our laboratory. The samples recovered consisted of relatively undisturbed
brass liner samples and disturbed bag samples. The samples are recovered by driving a 2-1/2
inch and 13/8 inch sampler into the ground. The samplers were driven by repeatedly
dropping a hammer weighting 140 pounds from a height of 30 inches. The number of blows
were recorded and are expressed on the boring logs in a number representing blows per foot.
(3)
