05 May 2015
AGE Project No. 14-3119
6.4. DESCRIPTION OF THE PERCOLATION TEST HOLE - POST SOAK
On 31 March 2015, the boring was found to be completely dry, but intact and in good
condition.
6.5. PERCOLATION TEST CONFORMED TO SJC POLICY EHD 02-02
The work was performed under SJCCDD Title Requirements Section 9-1105.2 (d) and
as required by EHD letter.
On 30 March 2015, test hole one was inspected prior to initiation of the percolation test.
The percolation test was performed by recording the amount of water remaining in the
bore hole at 30-minute intervals. The initial 6-inches of water seeped from test hole in
less than 30-minutes. After recording the measurement the EHD inspector approved a
one-hour percolation test. Additional water was added to the boring as required to
ensure that approximately 6-inches of water remained. The water level was measured
from a fixed reference point at the surface of the boring, using a Solinst water level
meter. Measurements were taken at 30-minute intervals for over four hours. The final
three measurements were observed by the EHD inspector. Based on the field
measurements collected, the percolation rate for the parcel was calculated and
presented in the following forms.
6.6. COMPLETED PERCOLATION TEST FORM
After completion of the test, the EHD inspector reviewed the field data and signed the
required EHD Percolation Test Rate form. Field measurements recorded during the test
are included on the Percolation Test Rate Field Sheet provided in Appendix B.
6.7. POTENTIAL PROBLEMS PREDICTED
On site soils within the shallow percolation test range demonstrated adequate
percolation rates. Additionally, the existing septic system has been properly operating.
6.8. PERCOLATION TEST FINDINGS
The shallow percolation test performed provided a satisfactory percolation test rate. The
percolation rate of 50 minutes per inch was calculated from data collected during the
4.5-hour percolation test. The use of the existing septic system should follow the San
Joaquin County On-site Wastewater Disposal Standards.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
