k
5.2 Description of soil profile pit including depth and dimensions: The shallow test holes
were prepared per County Standards. The holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
` 8 inches in diameter. They were backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel."
5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as Madera Sandy Loam and San
` Joaquin Sandy Loam as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California as provided
by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service,
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Maderal Sandy
Loam and San Joaquin Sandy Loam have very slow permeability thus; percolation rates were
250 min/in and 42 min/in. (See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site Map Showing the Iocation with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
1 test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
6.2 The Minimum Number be of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
Parcel: Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. On
parcel 1 a deep percolation test was performed.
6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
8 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County
Standards. The shallow holes were prepared by Jake Handel of Dillon & Murphy on
July 13, 2006 at 6:00 a.m. On July 14, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started.
-, The holes were filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel and at this time.
A deep and shallow percolation test were performed on parcel 1. Prior shallow percolation test
showed a percolation rate not in conformance with San Joaquin County Standards. See enclosed
percolation test results provided by Neil O. Anderson dated September 19, 2006. (See
Appendix)
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole, Etc.): On
July 14, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. the two shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of water was added to
the holes and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. One shallow test passed the minimum
County requirements.
I 6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth,
4
diameter, 2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests
conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02,
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
3
cA06101Soil Report
