Spanos Laud Company
1341 West Robinhood
I Stockton, California 95207
I
Subject: RECOMMENDED PERCOLATION RATES AND
'I NITRATE LOADING INFORMATION
CLUBHOUSE DISPOSAL AREA
THE RESERVES AT SPANOS PARK
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Ruhl:
Presented in this letter are o'ur recommended percolation rates and information regarding nitrate
loading for the clubhouse disposal area at The Reserves project at Spanos Park. As you are
aware, our firm performed four percolation tests in native soils in the corner of the agricultural
field closest to the clubhouse. Attempts were made to locate the percolation tests in areas not
subject to construction equipment or other traffic that would have compacted the underlying
soils. Anticipating a relatively-shallow groundwater depth the percolation tests were excavated
to the depths of approximately 24 inches. The percolation tests were set up on Monday,
November 30, pre-soaked, and the actual tests performed on ,December 1, 1998. After a test
period of four hours, all 'four percolation tests indicated a percolation rate of 60 minutes per inch
with a head maintained at 12 inches. In the same vicinity, a 1.0-foot monitoring well was also
completed on December 2, 1998, 'Por the purposes of measuring groundwater table and obtaining
a groundwater sample for analysis. The depth of groundwater was measured at 5 feet 4 inches
and a water samples was taken and transported to Sequoia Analytical in Sacramento on the same
day.
The analytical test results, which are attached, indicate very low values of nitrate as N of 1.05
milligrams per liter (ing/1) and nitrate as NO; of 4.66 mg/1. The limits for these constituents are
10 mg/l for nitrate as N, and 45 mg/l for nitrate as NO3. -- .
20-1096-15/2018L996 Page I of
Copyright 1998 Kleinfelder. Inc.
