Phase Il Environmental Site Assessment
Mountain House Neighborhood G
July 9,2002
Page 10
7.2.4 General Hazard Assessment Results
Maximum increased lifetime cancer risk was calculated for each COPC detected at the site. The cancer risk
and hazard quotients associated with each constituent of concern, over soil and air exposure media, and for
all constituents of concern, were summed to obtain the total cancer risk and total hazard index posed by
these constituents at the concentrations indicated in Table 1. The summations are included in Table 3. The
total calculated cancer risk is 4.57E-07, which is less than one in a million. Total hazard, calculated to be
1.00E-01, is less than unity.
TABLE 3
Summation of Risk and Hazard Over All Media for All
Constituents Of Concern
Chemical Risk Hazard
gamma-BHC(Lindane) 3.93E-09 3.23E-05
DDD 8.51E-10 NC
DDE 1.21E-09 NC
DDT 8.77E-10 1.66E-05
Endosulfan NC 6.17E-06
Endrin NC 4.08E-05
Endrin aldehyde NC NC
Heptachlor 2.28E-08 320E-05
Kepone 4.26E-07 NC
MCPP NC 7.46E-02
CAzinphos-methyl NC NC
Bolstar NC NC
Chlorpyrifos NC 4.71E-05
Coumaphos NC NC
Demeton(total) NC 4.99E-03
Diazinon NC 1.86E-04
Dimethoate NC 2.26E-03
Disulfoton NC 6.19E-03
Ethoprop NC NC
Ethyl parathion NC 2.71E-05
Famphur NC NC
Fensulfothion NC NC
Fenthion NC NC
Merphos NC 9.77E-03
Methyl parathion NC 2.02E-03
Mevinphos NC NC
O,O,O-Triethylphosphorothioate NC NC
Tetrachlorvinphos 1.38E-09 6.04E-06
Thionazin NC NC
Tokuthion NC NC
Trichloronate NC NC
Summation(PEA) 4.57E-07 I 1.00E-01
Data based on highest detected concentration of COPC.
