Dec . 28 • 2,005 2 : 15PM-' :.CA. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION"` ..: :--No .4656 "" 'P . 3/3 r s
Ms. Kuhl
December 28, 2005 {
Page 2 V
• The Department has commercial standards for driveways serving a commercial use
with direct access onto state highways. Any new driveways, as well as existing
driveways, shall be built or upgraded to current state standards. Where applicable any
sidewalk, curb and gutter, or ramp shallbe in compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act. The standards are available from the Department's permit engineer
for San Joaquin County, Marcel De La Cruz, who can be reached at (209) 948-3656.
• This proposed development may not create a major impact on SR-88 when considered
by itself. However, when combined with the cumulative impacts of other existing and
proposed development in this area, the resulting traffic will contribute to the
significant congestion forecasted to the SR-88 mainline and at the interchange of SR-
88/between Disch and Atkins Road. Therefore, the Department recommends the
collection of impact fees on a "Fair Share" basis for future improvements to these
facilities.
• All lighting (including reflected sunlight) within this project should be placed and/or
shielded so as not,to be hazardous to vehicles traveling on State facilities.
• Any sign advertising a business not"on premise" will ,require an Outdoor Advertising
Display Permit.
• All signs visible to traffic on State facilities need to be constructed in compliance with
local government and State regulations.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss our comments in more detail, please
contact Dan Brewer at(209) 948-7142 (e-mail: dan.brewerAdot.ca. ov or me at(209)
941-1921.
Sincerely,
l
T UMAS,Chief
Office of Intermodal Planning
C: SMorgan State Clearinghouse
"Caltrans imProwes mobilityarross 021ifornia"
