All features.of landscaping:shall be evaluated for type,
fli .
location and site visibility conflicts during the eucroac-Jucnt review process. All
.permits for landscaping in conventional highway right of-way must be accompaeuied
by a "District" approved maintenance agreement obligating a local agency or the
permittee to maintaining the landscaping. Said maintenance agreement must
accompany and be approved prior to issuance of the landscape permit. Proposed
landscape projects in.access control rights-of-way require an exception process, and
approval is subject to the Headquarters Departmental approval process.
• Stormwater is not allowed to be discharged to the State right-of-way. 'rhe applicant .
will be required to adhere to Caltrans construction stormwater requirements if there is
proposed work within the State right-of-way, Additional infonnation on Caltrans
stormwa.ter management requirements may be found on the I tercet at
www.dot.ca. rav/hq/env/stormwater/index.htm.
• Due to the project's proximity to SR 12/88, it is recommended that the applicant
perform a noise study in conformance with Federal Highway.ministration
regulations. If the study indicates a noise wall is required, the developer needs to be
required to build it. The City needs to make a condition of approval stating that any
future noise abatement will be the responsibility of the developer or the property
owner.
` Please forward the Final Conditions of Approval to the Transportation Planning
Division in order to monitor transportation related mitigation measures.
We suggest that the county continue to coordinate and consult with the Department to
identify and address potential cumulative transportation impacts that may occur from this
project and other developments near this geographical location. This will assist us in
ensuring that traffic safety and quality standards are maintained for the traveling public
on existing and future state transportation facilities.
"Caltraru lmprows mobility across California
