k4KLEINFE,LDI- R
File No. 20-4683-O1.GOI
December 12, 2001
I
Mr. Vernon Boyett
Boyett Construction, Inc.
6 Linden Avenue, Unit #3
f South San Francisco, CA 94080
r Subject: SOILS SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
PROPOSED RESIDENCE
28854 NORTH STATE ROUTE 88
LOCKEFORD, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Boyett:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for the
G subject residence to be located near Lockeford, California. The purpose of our study was to
determine the suitability of the property for septic tank usage. The study was performed in
general accordance with the requirements of Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin County
Ordinance. The following includes background information regarding the proposed
development, present use of the site, and the historical groundwater depths in the project area. In
addition, discussions regarding our investigative procedures, the site conditions encountered
during our field exploration, and the results of percolation tests are presented. Finally, the results
of our nitrate loading calculations and report limitations are provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 80-acre project site will contain a single-
family residence and possibly a barn with a small bathroom. At the time of our visit, the site
appeared to have had very little grading or earthwork performed except for minor grade changes
adjacent to State Route 88, the site's northwest border. The property is approximately 900 feet
wide (along State Route 88) by 3,700 feet long and extends to the southeast, gradually climbing
in elevation to the southeast for approximately 1/4 the length of the site and then descending into a
valley. Hills are present along the northeast and southwest property line boundaries, with
drainage predominantly in the northwest and southeast directions.
l We anticipate that waste disposal for the residence and barn will be provided by individual on-
site sewage disposal systems consisting of a septic tank and leach trench disposal field. We .
anticipate that shallow leach lines will be used for disposal of effluent.
20-4683-01-G01/201 1RIS33 December 12,2001
OO 2001 Kleinfelder,Inc.
