KLl: INFELDER
I
Nb = Background nitrate nitrogen concentration of rainfall recharge at the water table =
` 0.5 mg/1 (per Technical Memorandum, Hydrologic and Soil Investigation for the
If Chico Urban Area, page 6, Dames and Moore, April 1996)
Our calculation is as follows:
N, = 0.026 2 35 1 —0.35 +0.5 12.75 = 1.183 + 6.375
0.026(2)+12.75 = 0.59 mg/l as N
0.052 +12.75
CONCLUSIONS
Based on the above evaluation, we conclude that wastewater produced by the proposed residence
and barn should not cause the nitrate levels in groundwater below the site to rise above the state
standards. Furthermore, the results of our percolation tests indicate that a conventional septic
tank/leach trench sewage disposal system should adequately serve the proposed residence. A
suitable soil strata for wastewater anon co e 'dentifi T * e for the
proposed toilet fixture. Sewage from the proposed barn may need to be pumped or gravity fed to
a suitable alternate location on the property or a specialized sewage disposal system, such as a
mounded sewage disposal system, may need to be installed.
LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the existing and
proposed development and on the site conditions. It was assumed that the percolation test results
are representative of the subsurface conditions in the general area.
F
This completes the scope of work requested. Our work was performed in general accordance
with the standard of care that exists in San Joaquin County. No other guarantee or warranty,
expressed or implied, is made.
Respectfully submitted,
KLEINFELDE C.
((y 91,OFESS/
SV {4l
Ronald E.
